Bangladesh and India players were penalised by the International Cricket Council (ICC) after they clashed at the Under-19 World Cup final in Potchefstroom

Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) workers on Sunday (February 9, 2020) organised a rally at Azad Maidan in Mumbai demanding the ouster of illegal Bangladeshi and Pakistani immigrants from the State. Scores of workers of Raj Thackeray's party were seen raising slogans in favour of Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) and National Register of Citizens (NRC). Some of them also played musical instruments to send out their message.

Team India has lost one of its oldest superfans – Charulata Patel, the wheelchair bound elderly woman who caught the attention of the cricketing fraternity during the 2019 World Cup. The Board of Cricket Control in India took to Twitter today condoling the demise of the 87-year-old superfan. Charulata Patel stole the limelight during India's match against Bangladesh at the World Cup in Edgbaston last year when she was seen cheering for Virat Kohli's team with a horn and the tri-colour painted on her face. She immediately caught the attention of the internet as fans, commentators and the whole cricketing fraternity praised her energy and her pictures went viral on social media. Captain Virat Kohli and his deputy Rohit Sharma even met her after the game and took her blessings. The Supreme Court, which continues to hear the PIL on deportation of illegal Bangladeshis and Rohingyas has issued notices to the Union home ministry and chief secretaries of all states and Union territories in this regard and has posted the matter for further hearing on March 18.

If one looks into the nature of the protests that have taken place, one can see a deliberate attempt to put Hindus in bad light; all this for the sake of CAA which only seeks to offer a sense of belonging to those minorities who have fled Pakistan, Bangladesh and Afghanistan
