The Union Minister of State for HRD, Communications, and Electronics & Information Technology Sanjay Dhotre said that the Government, under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi had sanctioned a development package of Rs. 80,000 crores for Jammu and Kashmir, which is enabling the opening of IIT, IIM, and AIIMs and allowing the development of highways, power generation, and irrigation projects.

Incessant rainfall in Darjeeling, Sikkim; landslides block roads
Two National Highways (NH) -- NH 10, that connects siliguri in West Bengal with Sikkim and NH 31, that connects Siliguri and Dooars in Jalpaiguri district -- have been closed. Sabarimala: Ayyappa Jyothi to counter Pinarayi's women's wall with peace in Kerala
It is reported that the Ayyappa Jyothi programme would be held on December 26 between 6pm to 6:30pm along the national highways, from Kasaragod district to Thiruvananthapuram district.
