As I-T raids on the JDS and the Congress continue in Mandya and Hassan, in Karnataka, member of the BJP and the Congress have resorted to allegations and counter-allegations

 

After making his intentions clear, Muddahanumegowda, the sitting Congress MP from Tumakuru, filed his nomination from Tumakuru, much against the wishes of the Congress. JD(S) patriarch HD Deve Gowda is the mutually-agreed-upon candidate from the Congress and the JD(S). Political analysts feel Muddahanumegowda’s move might hamper Deve Gowda’s prospects

Prajwal Revanna, son of HD Revanna and grandson of HD Deve Gowda, is all set to file his nomination today and the family is now making elaborate preparations. The family has begun their usual ‘temple run’  before filing the nomination at 1pm in Hassan, Karnataka.

Karnataka chief minister Kumaraswamy said that Deve Gowda has Bengaluru North or Tumakuru to choose from. But he is also interested in Hassan, but for the promise he made to his grandson Prajwal Revanna, Kumaraswamy added.

It is highly likely that HD Deve Gowda might return to his tried and tested constituency of Hassan for the upcoming Lok Sabha polls. There are talks that the former Prime Minister is diffident about his chances from the three other constituencies. But BJP’s R Ashoka said that a "vengeful Siddaramaiah might ensure Deve Gowda loses in Bangalore North and Tumakuru" to avenge his defeat in Chamundeshwari during the recent Assembly polls   

 

Congress MP from Tumakuru Mudda Hanumegowda is getting sleepless nights as the JD(S) supremo HD Deve Gowda might contest from this constituency. If that happens, Hanumegowda will have to forcefully relinquish his seat to accommodate the senior leader
 

In what comes as a surprise, the Mayawati-led BSP has decided not have a tie-up with the JD(S). This means, both Congress and the JD(S) will not have the support of the BSP in the upcoming Lok Sabha polls. Mayawati feels it is better fighting it out all alone, instead of having alliances.
 

JD(S) leaders CS Puttaraju and DC Tammanna formally announced that Nikhil Kumaraswamy would be the party candidate from Mandya for the Lok Sabha polls. Interestingly, the announcement was made keeping in mind the astrological impact.  
 

Senior BJP leader Jagadish Shettar has made fun of HD Deve Gowda and his family for shedding tears in public. In a tweet, he said the Gowda family didn’t cry when soldiers martyred or farmers committed suicide, but they are crying as Gowda doesn’t have a constituency to contest from.
