Eldhose Paul is an Indian athlete and Indian Navy officer. In 2021, he played at the national level for the first time in the Indian Grand Prix 4 Patiala and won a gold medal. Eldhose Paul is the first Indian to win a gold medal in men’s triple jump at the Commonwealth Games 2022.

Mumtaz Khan is an international hockey player. She earned a spot on the Junior National Hockey team in 2017. In 2022, Mumtaz was honoured by the FIH as the Rising Star of the Year. Mumtaz played exceptionally well in the Junior World Cup scoring 8 goals in 6 matches, including a hat-trick against Malaysia.

Mohammad Ibrar is a resident of Sangrampur village, Pratapgarh. He used to participate in the village games during Nag Panchami. By succeeding at the district level competitions, he became a state-level player. Ibrar clinched a gold medal at the South Asian Games held in Dhaka and a bronze medal at the Asian Indoor Athletics Championship in Iran.

Sonbhadra’s Rambabu has an exceptional tale of victory to share. Despite coming from a humble background, he trained himself as a professional runner and secured the bronze medal alongside Manju Rani in the mixed team event of the 35 km walk at the 2023 Asian Games. Previously, he held the record of completing 35 km walk in just 2 hours, 31 minutes, and 36 seconds.

Harjinder Kaur is an Indian weightlifter. She competes in the 71 kg women's category. In 2022, she won a bronze medal at the Commonwealth Games. Punjab’s Chief Minister Bhagwat Maan congratulated her and gave her a cash prize of Rs 40 lakh.

Harmanpreet Kaur is an Indian cricketer. She received training from Jian Jyoti School Academy, Punjab. In 2016, she was signed by the Sydney Scorchers, an overseas T20 franchise. In 2023, the Indian women’s cricket team earned the gold medal at the Asian Games held in China, under the leadership of Harmanpreet Kaur.

Divyansh was obsessed with playing video games. His parents were concerned and encouraged him to try physical games like shooting. Divyansh received training from Shooting Academy in Jaipur. Along with his teammates, he beat the China’s team, surpassed their record and won a gold medal for India.

Yashaswini Singh Deswal is an Indian sport shooter. She began her training as a pistol shooter in the year 2012. In the year 2017, she set a world junior record of 235.9 in the 10-meter air pistol event and also won the gold medal in the ISSF Junior World Championship in 2017.

Shushila Likmabam is an Indian Judo player. She participated in the 2014 Commonwealth Games and won a silver medal for the country. In the year 2019, Shushila won a gold medal at the South Asian Games in 48 kg category.

Manpreet Singh is an Indian hockey player. He rose to prominence in 2021, when India won the bronze medal at the 2020 Summer Olympics (Tokyo) under his leadership. This was India’s first Olympic medal in hockey since 1980.

Swapna Barman is an Indian athlete. She received training from the 'Sports Authority of India Campus'. With the help of scholarships, Swapna participated in several state and national level competitions. She won a gold medal in 2018 Asian Games in women's category of heptathlon. 

Tejaswini Bai, who won the Arjuna Award in 2011 and was a member of the Women’s Kabaddi team that won gold medals at the 2010 and 2014 Asian Games respectively, who lost her husband owing to Covid-19, has got an assistance of Rs 2 lakh from Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports

The Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports is implementing ‘Pension to Meritorious Sportspersons’ scheme, Sportspersons who are Indian citizens and have won medals in Olympic Games, Commonwealth Games, Asian Games and World Cups/World Championships (in Olympic and Asian Games disciplines) and Paralympic Games, are eligible for lifelong monthly pension after they attain the age of 30 years or retire from active sports, whichever is later.
