Yashaswini Singh Deswal is an Indian sport shooter. She was born on 30 March 1997 in Delhi. Her zodiac sign is Aries. She completed her schooling from DAV College, Chandigarh. She earned a degree in economics from the same college. 

Yashaswini’s father, SS Deswal is an IPS officer. Her mother Saroj Deswal is an officer in Haryana income tax department. 

Her hobbies include reading, swimming and adventurous sports. 

Interesting facts about Yashaswini

She was inspired by the 2010 Commonwealth Games that were held in Delhi. She started practicing shooting in the year 2012. The same year she participated in the National Games organized by her school and won her first gold medal in Pune.

In the year 2014 she qualified for the Summer Youth Olympic Championships held in Nanjing, China. 

Yashaswini’s team events

In the year 2015, Yashaswini along with Heena Sidhu and Shweta Singh won the gold medal in the Asian Airgun Championship in Delhi. After winning this event, Yashaswini became the Junior National Champion of India.

In the year 2016, she won the silver medal in the solo and team events at the ISSF Junior World Cup held in Suhl, Germany. The same year she won the gold medal in the Qabala team event during the ISSF Junior World Cup.

Then she won a gold medal in the South Asian Games team event and a bronze medal in the solo event.

Setting world records

In the year 2017, she set a world junior record of 235.9 in the 10-meter air pistol event and also won the gold medal in the ISSF Junior World Championship in 2017.

In 2018, Yashaswini along with Abhishek Verma won the gold medal in the mixed air pistol events at the Kumar Surendra Singh Championship.

During the Save Water Campaign in the year 2019, Yashaswini gave a social message through a video on the Indian Rajya Sabha TV channel.

ISSF World Cup

After winning two gold medals in the year 2019, she won another gold medal for India in the ISSF World Cup held in Rio de Janeiro.

In the year 2019, she defeated her opponent Olena Kostevich who was a former world and Olympic champion.

She considers India's Olympic silver medallist, Jitu Rai as her inspiration.

Tejinder Singh Dhillon is Yashaswini’s personal coach. Her national coach is Jaspal Rana. 

Yashaswini participates in 10-metre events. 

In March 2021, Yashaswini, along with Manu Bhaker and Sri Nivetha, won the gold medal in the women's team 10-metre air pistol event at the Dr. Karni Singh Shooting Range Championships in New Delhi, defeating her three rivals from Poland, Julita Borek, Joanna Iwona Wawrzonowska and Agnieszka Korejwo.

In 2021, Yashaswini Singh Deswal was selected to represent India in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
