 Only two key accused are yet to be arrested in the case. The police are still in search of Sahal, who allegedly stabbed SFI leader Abhimanyu in Kerala, and Shaheem, who was part of the gang of attackers.

On July 2, 2018, 20-year-old Abhimanyu was attacked and killed at Maharaja’s College hostel around 12:30 am.  Abhimanyu was in the second year of his degree course.  
 

Peringamala Iqbal College Campus Front unit secretary Aslam resigned with a reason. He said that the party is trying to make more Abhimanyus in Kerala colleges. 

Kerala police have by now arrested 9 out of the 17 accused, who are directly involved in the murder of SFI activist Abhimanyu, and are currently searching for remaining persons
 

The police have issued a lookout notice against eight absconding accused in the case related to the murder of SFI activist Abhimanyu.
