Kochi: A youth from Kochi, Kerala has pinned all her faith on her book to treat her ill mother. 24-year-old Blessy Anna Johnson's mother is suffering from renal ailments and is need of an immediate kidney transplant.

When Blessy was in school, she started writing the novel, 'Harrus Clever: The Gifted Name'. She couldn't publish her book until now due to financial crisis even though she completed writing the book years ago.

Blessy's mother Jaisy, requires up to Rs 25 lakh for the treatment and a kidney transplant. Her family's only hope for the treatment is the youth's book.

Blessy's book was published a week ago by Kindle Direct Publishing. She stated that she opted to publish her book through Kindle Direct Publishing because other companies required more money.

The youth proofread her copy herself using a grammar correction software and was later helped by her English teacher who edited her book.

Harrus Clever: The Gifted Name is available online and in paperback.

Blessy's book conveys the relationship between a brother and sister. In an interview with the Times of India, Blessy said that her wish for an older brother and the adventurous journey she may have had inspired her to write the book. The book talks about the care, quarrels and love between siblings.

The premise of the story is set in Chicago and Brazil.  Blessy used several other books and social media as reference to write her book, as she has never travelled to the US.

A crowdfunding campaign has also been launched to help Blessy's mother.
