The union home ministry has allowed reopening of shops in both urban and rural areas. But malls have been asked to remain shut.  Committees formed under the UGC have recommended that academic year start by September rather than July and educational institutes hold exams online if possible.

University Grants Commission (UGC) has recommended that academic session in universities and higher educational institutions can be started from September instead of July.
 

Following protests from various student groups, ABVP too had approached the University Grants Commission (UGC) with signatures of JNU students against fee hike and new hostel manual. The JNU has partially rolled back its order of fee hike.
