Nadeem was operating his restaurant business well until the pandemic hit the world. The lockdown made it difficult to attract customers and bearing the household responsibilities became troublesome. He tried his luck one last time before giving up and established a kebab selling business.

Keshav Maratha, a resident of Indore, worked as a video journalist for 13 years. The long work hours and extremely low salary were a matter of concern. On the encouragement of his wife, he quit his job and opened a tea stall. Today, he makes decent earnings while sustaining the needs of his family.

Aarin Ratnesh Sorathiya launched ‘Chaiwale Ki Chaipatti’ in the year 2016 with a single product, and today the product line has expanded to include 50-60 varieties. Aarin’s company has a range of flavoured tea and coffee which not only boosts the sales but also provides customers with interesting choices.  

Pawan Kumar Chandana and Naga Bharat Daka, alumni of IITs and ex-employees of ISRO, launched India’s first private aerospace company Skyroot Aerospace in the year 2018. The company successfully launched Vikram-S rocket on 18 November 2022, and is now gearing up to launch Vikram-1 rocket in 2024.

Abhishek Bhardwaj worked in the corporate sector for ten long years before quitting the job and starting his tea business. He studied the tea markets and the increasing number of tea outlets in the cities. Today, he easily makes Rs 1,00,000 in a month. There are also plans of expanding the business to other parts of the country.

Gujarat’s Neha Bhatt runs a tea startup with the name ‘Ampu Tea Neha.’ In July 2021, Neha met with an accident. Her left side of the body was damaged and due to a delay in treatment, she had to undergo amputation, losing one of her legs. She sells almost 300 cups of tea daily and earns somewhere around Rs 1 to 1.5 lakh in a month.  

Indore’s Nikunj Sharma launched his tea business in Gorakhpur. Initially, he found it difficult to open a single outlet in the city but with the kindness of other people, he successfully launched his business. Today, Nikunj operates seven outlets in different cities and provides employment to people with disabilities.

Radhika is a patient of brittle bones disease. This condition causes her bones to fracture even without doing any significant activity. Her brother introduced her to the concept of making African dolls. She was 14 and this sparked her interest in crafting dolls from newspapers. Radhika began receiving orders from overseas via social media platforms and by the age of 20, she became an independent entrepreneur.

Rohit Manglik’s first two startups resulted in disappointments. He joined a job that paid him 42 lakhs a year. His dissatisfaction with an office job made him work on his third startup. Currently, Rohit’s application EduGorilla has millions of users.

Tapsi Upadhyay is pursuing a B Tech degree in computer science from IITM Janakpuri. She is the eldest among her three siblings. In her class 12, she offered tuition classes to earn pocket money. After experiencing food poisoning a couple of times, she made the decision to open her own food stall. Today, she operates approximately 20 stalls across the country.

Jetaram Chaudhary grew up in a life of poverty, and despite all the challenges he faced, he established a company worth Rs 215 crore. Services like KYC, bill payments, money transfer, mini-ATM, ticket booking, e-Mitra are provided on the platform.

Simran lost her career as a model during the pandemic. She took up a job but could not earn anything. Getting inspired by other tea entrepreneurs, she launched her own startup ‘Model Chai Wali’ and today she makes up to Rs 1 lakh in a month.
 

IITians are globally recognized for their exceptional intelligence and entrepreneurial skills. Sundar Pichai, an Indian-American business executive, holds the position of CEO at both Alphabet Inc. and Google. Sachin Bansal is the founder of the e-commerce giant, Flipkart. IIT alumni have left a significant mark on the world stage with their remarkable talents and achievements.

Amit Kashyap and Mannu Sharma are friends from Haryana. They moved to Mumbai to try their luck in running their own business. Mannu came up with an unconventional idea of opening a tea stall in their Audi car. Their business idea proved to be successful, and celebrities often visit their shop regularly.

Divyanshu Shukla worked with the opening teams in Delhi and NCR malls for several years. From there, he got the idea of launching his own startup to educate the public about government policies. He is currently working with Startup UP and has helped many entrepreneurs launch their startups successfully.
