Delhi: Launching a business comes with a baggage of both sweet and unpleasant memories. Abhishek Bhardwaj worked in the corporate sector for ten long years before quitting the job and starting his tea business. His father was upset with his decision and the relationship between the father and the son soured. Abhishek keeps in touch with his mother and regularly gives her the updates about his successful tea business. He hopes to mend his relationship with his father soon.

Who is Abhishek Bhardwaj?

Abhishek Bhardwaj is a resident of Arrah, Bihar. He completed his education from local government schools. His father Triloki Nath Upadhyay works as a lawyer, and his mother is a homemaker. He pursued his bachelor's and master’s degree from Veer Kunwar Singh University, Arrah, Bihar. He started his professional career with Max Life Insurance and then worked at Kotak Mahindra for eight years. 

Quitting the job

Abhishek Bhardwaj was earning a salary of Rs 75,000 per month. When he expressed his wish to quit his job, his father was left disappointed with his decision. Abhishek shares that none of his family members have ever owned a business and the thought of starting this venture was unsettling for his father. 

In the past, Abhishek had been a topper in his studies. He had been diligently working for several years at the company and requested his seniors to increase his appraisals. When his request was rejected, he made the decision to leave his job behind to start a new career. 

Selling tea on bullet bikes

Abhishek was fond of bikes and bought a Bullet bike of his own. He studied the tea markets and the increasing number of tea outlets in the cities. He carefully designed his plan with the idea that he needed to add a unique aspect to his venture. 

In the year 2022, Abhishek started selling tea on his bullet bike on Delhi Gurgaon Highway. On the very first day, he sold 7 cups of tea and earned Rs 75. It was not discouraging at all, and Abhishek resolved to grow his business further. His positive outlook helped him increase the sales and just under 6 months, Abhishek became the famous Bullet Chaiwala. 

Making one lakh rupees in a month

The price of one cup of tea is Rs 10. The quality of Abhishek’s tea is top-notch which is also the primary factor in attracting customers. Today, he easily makes Rs 1,00,000 in a month. There are also plans of expanding the business to other parts of the country. 

Abhishek shares that his office job never provided him the satisfaction that he earns from his present occupation. His venture is popular among the locals and people visit him often as regular customers. He has interesting conversations with travellers and locals alike that make him appreciate life more. 

 A change in lifestyle

Abhishek Bhardwaj is a devotee of Goddess Durga. He even donated his first earning from his first day of business in the donation box of a temple. He runs his tea stall near Janak Cinema in Uttam Nagar, Delhi. He pays his monthly rent and manages other house expenses while saving a significant amount for future. His popularity has made him a local celebrity and customers gather to have pictures clicked with him. The only thing that he misses is his father’s support.
