Bengaluru: The politics over Palghar lynchings continues. In its editorial in Saamna the Shiva Sena has taken a jibe at the UP CM Yogi Adityanath trying its best to draw parallels with Bulandshahr killings of sadhus.

It said "Similar incident happened in Bulandshahr where Sadhus were killed. No opposition in UP asked for the resignation of Yogi Adityanath? Another incident happened in Uttar Pradesh's Itawah recently where a five-member Brahmin family was killed. Still, there was no pressure on Yogi Adityanath. They should have also understood that the region in Palghar has been BJP-ruled once," it added.

It might be recalled that Yogi Adityanath had called up Uddhav Thackeray in the aftermath of the Palghar lynchings and expressed his concerns over the killings of sadhus and their driver.

And in the immediacy of the Bulandshahr killings, Uddhav too had dialled Yogi Adityanath and expressed his concerns over the killings. But it seemed more than a tit-for-tat action rather than a concern.

Sensing this bellicose nature of Uddhav Thackeray, Yogi Adityanath had hit back saying Uddhav Thackeray better be concerned about Maharashtra and not to worry about Uttar Pradesh.

It was on April 16 that two monks Mahant Kalpavruksha Giri and Sushilgiri Maharaj were travelling in a vehicle driven by Nilesh Yelgade to Gujarat for attending a funeral. A mob of a hundred people attacked them on the suspicion that they were kidnappers. The mob beat them up so badly that all the three died.

But worse than the deaths was the attitude of the police. In the videos that emerged later, it is seen a policeman handing over the monk to the mob and allowing them to butcher them badly.

Though the news has outraged everyone, the Shiva Sena government took time to order to a probe into the incident.
