Bengaluru: The nation can’t wait for the bhumi puja to be held on August 5 in Ayodhya. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will take part in the grand event in which 200 guests will take part.

But what will Lord Ram and his brothers wear on the important day?

Well, as per reports, Lord Ram, his brothers Laxman, Bharat, Shatrughan and Lord Hanuman, will wear new clothes, made of velvet with exquisite embroidery and embellished with gem stones.

Reports add that President of Ramdal Seva Trust, Pandit Kalki Ram, will present the special costumes to the idols.

It is interesting to note that these costumes will be fitted with gems and jewels of nine varieties making it a Navratna attire.

A popular website quoted Bhagwat Prasad, who is stitching the clothes for the idols, as saying, "Lord Ram will wear a green attire since the Bhoomi Pujan is being done on Wednesday and the colour for this day is green. The attire will have a red and yellow border. The clothes for the other idols will be equally well embellished and rich."

His family has been stitching clothes for Lord Ram for a long time.

"Even before I was born, my family was stitching clothes for Lord Ram. We follow colour therapy for the deity and the Lord wears white clothes on Monday, red on Tuesday, green on Wednesday, yellow on Thursday, cream colour on Friday, blue on Saturday and pink on Sunday."

Ayodhya is all decked up for the momentous occasion. Though there are wanton efforts to somehow scuttle and stymie the event, devotees are gung-ho about it.

The entire programme will be telecast on Doordarshan. Apart from the Prime Minister, Amit Shah, LK Advani, Murali Manohar Joshi, Mohan Bhagwat and Yogi Adityanath are all expected to be present on the historic day.
