The flavourful tomato garlic chutney is best enjoyed with dosas, idlis, sandwiches, or as a dipping sauce for snacks. This versatile chutney enhances the taste of any and every dish. It’s way too easy to prepare this superior condiment at home. Let’s explore this easy recipe.

Ingredients you are going to need:

•    4 chopped tomatoes
•    8-10 garlic cloves
•    2-3 dried red chilies (according to spice preference)
•    1 tablespoon oil
•    ½ teaspoon mustard seeds
•    ½ teaspoon cumin seeds
•    A pinch of hing
•    Salt to taste
•    Fresh coriander

Follow these instructions:

Step 1- Heat a tablespoon of oil in a pan over medium heat. Add mustard seeds and cumin seeds. Allow them to splutter.

Step 2- Add garlic cloves and dried red chilies to the pan. Sauté for a couple of minutes.

Step 3- Now, add the chopped tomatoes to the pan. Cook the tomatoes until they turn soft and mushy, stirring occasionally.

Step 4- Once the tomatoes are cooked, add a pinch of hing and salt to taste. Mix well.

Step 5- Allow the mixture to cool down to room temperature. In a mixer, blend all the ingredients together. Add a little water if necessary.

Step 6- For added flavour you can blend together coriander leaves. You can also skip this step.

Another quick idea: Rather than frying the tomatoes, you can simply blend the ingredients together in a mixer skipping the mustard seeds, cumin seeds, and oil.

Store the chutney in refrigerator for up to a week. Serve it alongside lunch and dinner meals for making your food delicious.
