Palak Paneer is a delightful North Indian dish loved by many. This vegetarian delight is not only nutritious but also incredibly flavourful. This Sunday, surprise your family by preparing this hearty and satisfying meal for them. With simple ingredients and easy steps, you can enjoy this classic dish in no time.

Ingredients you are going to need:

•    300g fresh spinach leaves
•    200g paneer 
•    1 chopped large onion 
•    2 chopped tomatoes 
•    2 chopped green chillies 
•    3-4 cloves of minced garlic
•    1-inch piece of grated ginger 
•    1 teaspoon cumin seeds
•    1 teaspoon coriander powder
•    1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
•    Red chilli powder
•    1/2 teaspoon garam masala
•    Salt to taste
•    2 tablespoons oil or ghee
•    Fresh coriander 

Follow these instructions:

Step 1- Boil water in a pot and blanch the spinach for 2-3 minutes. Drain the spinach and transfer it to a bowl of cold water. Once cooled, blend the spinach into a smooth puree and set aside.

Step 2- Heat 1 tablespoon of ghee (or oil) in a pan over medium heat. Add the paneer cubes and shallow fry them until golden brown on all sides. Remove the paneer cubes from the pan and set aside.

Step 3- In the same pan, add another tablespoon of ghee. Add cumin seeds and let them splutter. Then, add onions and sauté them.

Step 4- Add minced garlic, grated ginger, and chopped green chillies to the pan. Sauté for a minute.

Step 5- Add coriander powder, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, and garam masala to the pan. Mix well and sauté for another minute.

Step 6- Add finely tomatoes to the pan and cook until they turn soft and mushy, and the oil starts to separate from the masala.

Step 7- Once the tomatoes are cooked, add the spinach puree to the pan. Stir well to mix all the ingredients.

Step 8- Cook it for 5-7 minutes on low heat. Add salt according to taste.

Step 9- Add paneer to the spinach gravy. Gently mix everything together. 

Step 10- Cook for a minute or two until the gravy achieves the desired consistency. Once done, add coriander leaves on the top.
