New Delhi: Food ordering and delivery platform Swiggy on Wednesday said it has launched 'Swiggy Go', an instant pick up and drop service to send packages anywhere in the Bengaluru. 

Swiggy plans to expand the service to over 300 cities by 2020.

The company said in a statement that Swiggy Go, like Swiggy Stores, will be part of the app.

The service comes in handy to customers who can use it to fetch forgotten keys, pick up and drop off laundry, deliver lunch boxes from home to office or transfer documents or parcels to clients.

Swiggy is also looking to expand its Swiggy Stores to Bengaluru and Hyderabad.

According to a PTI report, Swiggy CEO Sriharsha Majety was quoted saying, "Swiggy's vision is to elevate the quality of life of urban consumers by offering unparalleled convenience. 

Bengaluru will be the first city in the country to experience Swiggy do the last-mile delivery for everything, not just food, he added.

Majety said that the company will expand to over 300 cities and Swiggy Stores to all the major metros by 2020, “ushering in a new era of convenience for consumers across India." 
The statement added that Swiggy’s dedicated fleet will be responsible for deliveries for Swiggy Go and Stores. 

All delivery partners engage with Swiggy on a principle to principle basis and receive life insurance, medical and accident coverage, it added and said that the new service will give them access to an additional avenue for income.

Swiggy was founded in 2014 and connects consumers to over 1,30,000 restaurant partners across more than 325 cities.
