Before making her Bollywood debut, Zaira had worked in commercials of Microsoft Mobile Phones and Tata Sky. She was only 15 years old at the time.

Zaira Wasim auditioned for the role of young Geeta Phogat in the film ‘Dangal’.

She was among hundreds of girls who auditioned for the role. After being selected, she began her acting career with Aamir Khan’s blockbuster hit film.  

Zaira underwent rigorous training to prepare herself for the role in the film.

She advocates for the rights of women and takes part in campaigns of women empowerment.

In the year 2017, Zaira played the lead role in the film ‘Secret Superstar’.
