Yashpal Sharma is an Indian actor. He was born on 1 January 1967 in Hisar, Haryana. His sun sign is Capricorn.  He completed his schooling from Haryana. He has a bachelor’s degree in acting and drama from the prestigious National School of Drama, Delhi. 

His father’s name is Prem Chand Sharma; he works for PWD. His mother’s name is not known. He has a brother, Ghanshyam Sharma.

His favourite Indian dish is Kadhi Chawal. 

His favourite actors are Amitabh Bachchan and Madhuri Dixit. He admires the songs of the legend, AR Rahman.

He is married to Pratibha Sharma and has a son, Swayam Sharma and a daughter, Saumya Sharma. 

Yashpal's debut film

In the year 1992, he started his acting career as an actor with the film ‘Zindagi Ek Jua’.

In the year 1997, after graduation, he joined the National School of Drama Repertory Company in Delhi, where he worked for 2 years.

He was seen in the films, Gangajal (2003), Lagaan (2001), Apharan (2005), Welcome to Sajjanpur (2008), Rowdy Rathod (2012), Jatt James Bond (2014), and Sardarjji 2. 

He was interested in acting since childhood. He used to participate in Ramlila programmes during Dussehra.

In the year 2001, he gained immense popularity with the film 'Lagaan'. His performance was admired but it raised many critical discussions for his portrayal of a socially backward person.

Yashpal made his television debut with 2010’s show ‘Mera Naam Karegi Roshan’.

Apart from Bollywood films, he also works in Punjabi films.

In 2014, he appeared in a comedy television show called ‘Neeli Chhatri Wale’; he played the role of Bhagwan Das.

In the year 2016, he was awarded at the Whatashort Independent International Film Festival for his short film 'Moksha'.

Yashpal was last seen in a web series ‘Kaalkoot’. It was released in July 2023. He was seen with his co-stars Vijay Varma and Shweta Tripathi.
