Vicky Kaushal is an Indian actor. He was born on 16 May 1988 in Mumbai, Maharashtra. His zodiac sign is Taurus. Vicky completed his schooling from Seth Chunnilal Damodardas Barfiwala High School, Mumbai. He earned a degree in Electronics and Telecommunication from Rajeev Gandhi Institute of Technology, Mumbai.

His father’s name is Shyam Kaushal; he is an action director. His mother, Veena Kaushal is a homemaker. He has a brother, Sunny Kaushal, who is an actor and assistant director.

Interesting facts about Vicky

In the year 1978, his father came to Mumbai. After years of struggle, his father established himself as an action director in Bollywood.

Vicky used to frequently participate in plays, skits, annual functions, etc. in his school.

During his teenage years he was an introvert and had a lean body.  

During his second year of college, he went for an industrial visit to a company where he realized that he was not capable of doing a 9 to 5 job. Despite being selected for the job, he decided to pursue his acting career and declined the job offer.

Initially, he assisted Anurag Kashyap on the film 'Gangs of Wasseypur' (2010), where he met Neeraj Ghaywan, director of the film 'Masaan' (2015), who advised Vicky to pursue theatre. Vicky joined theatre and started working as a theatre artist. He worked with artists like Naseeruddin Shah in 'Motley' and Manav Kaul in 'Aranya'.

Later, he enrolled in the acting institute 'Kishore Namit Kapoor Acting School' in Mumbai.

In the year 2013, he did a short film 'Geek Out'.

To prepare for the character of ‘Deepak Kumar’ in the film 'Masaan', he went to Varanasi for a month before the shoot, lost his weight and adapted to the local language and lifestyle.
