Swara Bhasker is a Bollywood actress and model. She was born on 9 April 1988 in Delhi. Her zodiac sign is Aries. She completed her schooling from Sardar Patel School, New Delhi. She earned bachelor’s degree in English from Miranda House, Delhi University. She also holds a post-graduate degree in sociology from Jawarharlal Nehru University, Delhi. 

Her father, Chitrapu Uday Bhasker is a columnist and a retired Commodore. Her mother, Ira Bhasker is a professor of cinema studies. She has a brother, Ishan Bhasker. 

Swara is married to Fahad Ahmad. They are parents of a daughter, Raabiyaa.

Swara used to actively participate in various school and college programmes. 

She learned Bharatnatyam from her guru, Leela Samson. 

Swara started her theatre career by working for ‘Act One’ group of NK Sharma Theatre. 

In the year 2008, Swara moved to Mumbai to pursue her acting career in Bollywood. She was signed for a film ‘Niyati’ by Vishwa Bhrdwaj, but the film was never released.

Swara’s debut

In 2009, she made her debut with ‘Madholal Keep Walking’. The film was not a huge success. 

In 2011, Swara played the role of ‘Payal’ in the film ‘Tanu Weds Manu’. The film was a major hit at the box office.

In 2013, Swara was seen in the film ‘Raanjhanaa’ where she played the role of ‘Bindiya’. Her co-actors were Sonam Kapoor and Dhanush. After the release of the film, she became a close friend of Sonam Kapoor. 

In 2015, she was invited as a guest on a Pakistani comedy TV programme ‘Majaak Raat’.

The same year, Swara was seen in ‘Prem Ratan Dhan Payo’ with Salman Khan and Sonam Kapoor. She gifted a vintage paint box to Salman Khan as he loves to paint. 

Swara’s marriage

On 16 February 2023, Swara married Fahad Ahmad; he is a politician. 

On 23 September 2023, Swara gave birth to a daughter. The couple named the baby girl Raabiyaa.

Her dream is to play a lead role in the biography of Indira Gandhi.
