Ritu Phogat is Indian martial artist and wrestler. She was born on 2 May 1994 in Balali village, Haryana. Her zodiac sign is Taurus. Her father, Mahavir Singh Phogat is an Indian wrestler, and her mother, Daya Kaur is a homemaker. Her sisters, Babita Kumari, Geeta Phogat, Sangeeta Phogat, are professional wrestlers. Ritu Phogat is an Indian Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) player and former freestyle wrestler. 

At the age of 8, Ritu Phogat started receiving wrestling training from her father Mahavir Singh Phogat. Her sisters, Geeta Phogat, Babita Phogat, and Sangeeta Phogat are accomplished wrestlers.

After completing her class 10, Ritu Phogat discontinued her studies to focus on her wrestling career. 

Ritu Phogat’s international wins

In 2011, she won the gold medals at the Junior Asia Championships and Cadet Asia Championships.

In the year 2014, Ritu Phogat made her debut at the FILA Junior World Championship held in Zagreb, Croatia. 

In 2016, she won a gold medal at the Commonwealth Wrestling Championship.

Ritu Phogat has clinched bronze medals at 2014 Cadet World Championship and 2014 Junior Asian Championship. 

Pro Wrestling League

She became the most expensive female wrestler in the Pro Wrestling League auction in December 2016. She was acquired by Jaipur Ninjas for a price of Rs 36 lakh. 

In the year 2017, she won a silver medal at the Under-23 World Wrestling Championship held in Bydgost, Poland. 

Ritu Phogat’s MMA career

In February 2019, Ritu Phogat left wrestling behind to pursue a career in MMA. She signed a contract with ONE Championship.

Ritu Phogat moved to Singapore and began receiving training at EVOLVE MAA organization. She trained herself in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Muay Thai, and boxing.

On 16 November 2019, she made her MMA debut with ONE Championship in a match against Cindy Tiong, a veteran kickboxer from Malaysia.
