Milind Soman spent his early years in Scotland and London. His family moved back to India when he was 7 years old.  

He was a national swimmer, he represented Maharashtra in the National Swimming Championship. He was a national champion for five consecutive years from 1984 to 1989.

Milind Soman’s modelling career

Milind Soman started his career as a model. He auditioned for his first modelling assignment for ‘Graviera Suitings’ but was not offered the opportunity as he was still young.

In the year 1989, he modelled for ‘Thackersey Fabrics’ and earned his first salary of Rs 50,000.

Milind Soman featured in Alisha Chinai’s 1995 song ‘Made In India.’ He gained recognition with the success of the song.
