Manisha Koirala is a film actress and social worker. She was born on 16 August 1970 in Kathmandu, Nepal. She grew up in New Delhi and completed her schooling from VKM School, Varanasi, and Army Public School, Dhaula Kuan, Delhi. She earned a diploma in Film Making from New York University. 

Her father, Prakash Koirala is a former politician from Nepal. Her mother, Sushma Koirala is a homemaker. She has a brother, Sidhharth Koirala.

Manisha Koirala is the granddaughter of former Nepali Prime Minister Bishweshwar Prasad Koirala.

She is a trained Bharatnatyam and Manipuri dancer. 

In her teenage years, Manisha dreamed of becoming a doctor, however, after doing a few modelling assignments, she decided to pursue a career in acting.

Manisha Koirala made her acting debut with the 1989 Nepali film ‘Feri Bathola.’
