Anupam Kher is an Indian actor. He was born on 7 March 1955 in Shimla, Himachal Pradesh. He completed his schooling from DAV Public School, Shimla, Himachal Pradesh. He attended Punjab University, Chandigarh, and National School of Drama, New Delhi. 

His father, Pushkar Nath Kher was a clerk in the forest department. His mother, Dulari Kher is a homemaker. His younger brother, Raju Kher is also an actor. 

Anupam Kher is married to Kirron Kher. They are parents to a son Sikandar Kher.
