Train passengers on the Bengaluru-Mangaluru will get to travel in vistadome coaches 

The government is paving a four-lane road in the middle of the western ghats. Though it is not necessary, the government is insistent on the project. In the name of development and modernisation, the forests are being demolished

 

There are plenty of rules, including Forest Conservation Act 1980, to get permission for any work to be conducted because Western Ghats is a forest zone. So, there is no point declaring the zone as an Eco Sensitive Area to curb any activities, said Karnataka forest minister R Shankar.
 

According to the report, the quake line had passed through Madikeri, Bisale, NR Pura and Chikkamagaluru in Karnataka. But what's strange is that places in Kodagu region that experienced floods recently are the same areas that were jolted by the quake in July.
