    India Employment Report 2024 published by the International Labour Organisation (ILO) and the Institute of Human Development (IHD) revealed that in 2022, 83% of Indian youth were unemployed. The unemployment rate saw a rise between 2000 and 2019; however, employment among youth declined globally during the Covid years.

A few years back, struggling to sustain their existence, families of militancy affected areas of Kashmir shifted to Nagrota, a small town near Jammu. In 2016, KVIC started a napkin stitching center in Nagrota, for the women impacted by the lack of livelihood opportunities and unemployment, to help them become self-dependent and sustain their families.
