The Bengaluru Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) has suspended a bus conductor from duty after a shocking video showing a woman passenger being assaulted sparked outrage across social media platforms. An argument happened beween the conductor, identified as Honnappa Nagappa Agasar, and a 24-year-old woman passenger travelling from Bilekalli to Shivajinagar on a BMTC bus operating the Bannerghatta National Park to Shivajinagar route.

However, contrary to this, a distressing incident has come to light in Bengaluru involving a on duty security staff member stationed at a metro station who engaged in inappropriate behaviour by touching his private parts and masturbating in full view of passengers, particularly a female traveller.

Nellayappan B serves as the OSD (Officer on Special Duty) to Nagaland’s CM. He is also the Deputy Director of Nagaland’s School Education system. Nellayappan B grew up in a small house with his parents and four siblings. He worked hard and got a permanent job as a government teacher. In 2012, he became the school's principal and the Assistant Director of the Education Board in 2018. In 2022, Nellayappan was promoted to the rank of Deputy Director.

The next 3 weeks are very critical in our efforts to fight the spread of this pandemic. Every Indian must play his/her role in this fight against coronavirus. This is extremely critical for each of our well-being, our city, our village, our state and our country. Hence, each of us must take on this responsibility to make people aware of their duty to themselves, their communities, state and country to stay home and socially distance.

The much needed Data Protection Bill 2019 will be tabled in the Parliament that proposes to regulate the data protection and  privacy. The draft bill had stated that any person processing data owes a duty to the data principal to process personal data in a fair and reasonable manner that respects the privacy of the data principal.
