YourShell, a leading student accommodation brand in Delhi NCR, announced today that they have been acquired by Stanza Living - India’s largest managed accommodation company. The two companies have been in talks since late last year, culminating now in a deal. Established by Delhi University students; YourShell is among the youngest startups to raise venture debt under the Government of India’s StandUp India program. They were also an operationally profitable business across their 18 properties, at the time of deal. 

In what comes as a much needed relief, Delhi witnessed mild showers, thereby improving the air quality in the region. The national capital region has been reeling under harmful levels of air pollution ever since Diwali, majorly owing to stubble burning in the neighbouring states of Haryana, Punjab and Uttar Pradesh.

According to SAFAR, PM 2.5 level was docked at 279 while PM 10 level was at 143 in NCR. In Noida, the PM 2.5 level was recorded at 166 and PM 10 level docked at 170, both of which falls in 'moderate' category

The Winter session of the Parliament is ongoing and the discussion on air pollution and climate change expected to be on the floors in the Lok Sabha. The discussion assumes significance as Delhi and its adjoining regions have been battling severe pollution levels in the last few days mainly due to stubble burning by farmers in Haryana and Punjab.

Strong, gusty winds and a clear sky with ample sunlight paved the way for an improved air quality in and around Delhi-NCR. All private and government schools in the region reopened after being shut due to severe air pollution. 

The overall air quality of Delhi and the NCR has entered the ‘Severe’ category. The effective stubble fire counts estimated by SAFAR-integrated multi-satellite methodology have shown decreasing trend and were 740 on November 11, but the transport level wind direction is forecast to be highly favorable for plume intrusion for the next two days, SAFAR stated.
