When exposed to UV radiation over an extended period of time, your hair, like your skin, can get sun damaged. Invest in UV-protective hair products, such as sulphate and paraben-free shampoo, leave-in conditioners, or styling sprays, to shield your strands from the sun's damaging rays. Consider wearing a wide-brimmed hat or scarf when spending time outside to protect your hair.

Here are some tips you should follow to keep your hair strong and shiny during harsh summers.

1. Control Frizz with Protective Styling:
Humidity levels can rise during the summer, causing frizzy, unruly hair. Style your hair in protective hairstyles like braids, buns, or ponytails to reduce frizz. These styles help to keep your hair confined and protected from excessive moisture in the air, reducing frizz and flyaways.

2. Moisturize Regularly:
Sun exposure, can cause your hair to become dry and brittle. Hydrating hair masks and deep conditioning treatments can help prevent moisture loss. To restore moisture and gloss to your hair, use hair care products created with nourishing components such as coconut oil, almond oil, argan oil, and shea butter.

3. Limit Heat Styling:
Give your hair a vacation from heat-styling products like flat irons and blow dryers, which can dry out your strands and cause damage, especially when combined with sun exposure. Instead, use air drying whenever feasible to let your hair dry naturally while minimizing heat damage.

4. Rinse your hair on regular interval:
Conditioner is your friend, but shampoo must be your acquaintance. We don't recommend shampooing every day, especially during the summer months. On those days, you can rinse your hair with cool or lukewarm water.

5. Consider an overnight treatment:
Hair treatments that are applied overnight can be very beneficial during the summer months. Deep conditioning can actually help to keep your hair moisturized and vibrant. You don't have to purchase a costly treatment if you don't want to. You can use a leave-in conditioner, applying it mostly to the roots, and then wrap your hair in a towel overnight.

6. Trim Periodically:
The strong heat, salt water, and chlorine can cause split ends and breakage, resulting in dull, lifeless hair. Maintain the health of your hair by arranging haircuts every 6-8 weeks to remove split ends and prevent further damage.
