Prerna Jhunjhunwala is an Indian entrepreneur who owns an EdTech startup in Singapore. She never attended any of the prestigious institutes like IITs or IIMs, or received any formal business training, and yet she is shining in the realm of business solely through her hard work. Today, she has built a company valued at Rs 330 crore. 

EdTech startups

Prerna Jhunjhunwala used to work as a school teacher. Driven by her passion for education, she started a pre-school called Little Paddington in Singapore. She also founded a startup called Creative Galileo, which focuses on the education of children between 3 to 10 years. Through this startup, various activities are organized for holistic development of young children.

Educational apps

Prerna Jhunjhunwala completed her higher studies from New York University. Her company launched two mobile applications called ‘Toondemy’ and ‘Little Singham’ that offer lessons on various educational topics. These apps have been downloaded over 10 million (1 crore) times and are ranked among the top 20 on the Play Store in India. According to her LinkedIn profile, these apps feature story videos for children.

Company’s value

Her innovative concepts of providing educational content to students gained significant traction. Last year, she received an investment of Rs 60 crore. Her startup had an estimated value of Rs 330 crore. She is now working on introducing content in local languages in the near future.
