Background

Vineeta Singh was born in Gujarat in 1983. Her father, Tej Singh used to work as scientist at AIIMS. In the year 2005, she earned her graduate degree in Electrical Engineering from IIT Madras. Vineeta Singh also pursued an MBA degree from the prestigious IIM Ahmedabad. 

Rejecting a job offer

After completing her MBA degree, Vineeta Singh received a lucrative job offer from a renowned company with an annual package of Rs 1 crore. Since childhood she had a dream of establishing her own business. Determined to pursue her passion, she rejected the job offer, and relocated to Mumbai to turn her dream into reality. 

First business venture

At the young age of 22, Vineeta Singh decided to establish her first business. She founded a women’s lingerie brand, but due to the financial challenges, she could not turn this venture into a success. Despite the initial setback, she ventured into another business endeavour, Quetzal Verify Private Limited. Unfortunately, this also resulted in failure. 

Sugar Cosmetics

Vineeta Singh, along with her husband, decided to step into the cosmetics industry. She introduced the brand 'Sugar Cosmetics' to the market, and it quickly gained prominence. Through dedicated efforts, the couple made substantial profits, establishing their brand as the most sought-after cosmetic company. In an interview, Vineeta revealed that initially more than 100 companies refused to invest in her business. Despite the failures, she persevered in pursuing her dreams.

Vineeta Singh’s total net worth is estimated to be around Rs 300 crore. She owns opulent properties and several luxury cars. Over the years, Sugar has emerged as the most popular brand in the cosmetic industry. Reportedly, as a judge on the show ‘Shark Tank’ she commands a fee of Rs 5 lakh per episode.
