Who is IPS Anshika Verma?

Anshika Verma was born on January 3, 1996, in Prayagraj (Uttar Pradesh). Her father, Anil Verma, is retired from government service. Anshika's early education took place in Prayagraj. After completing her 12th grade, she pursued a B.Tech in Electronics & Communication from Noida, graduating in 2018. Anshika has always excelled in her studies. After completing her engineering degree, she directly started preparing for the UPSC.

UPSC Preparation Without Coaching, Initial Setback

While most students join coaching institutes for an exam like UPSC, Anshika Verma decided to prepare through self-study. She worked hard but faced failure in her first attempt. However, she didn't give up. She identified her mistakes, changed her strategy, and made a strong comeback in her second attempt. She cleared the UPSC in 2021 and secured 136th rank.

Securing the IPS Post and Home Cadre

After clearing the UPSC, Anshika Verma was allocated the IPS post and, fortunately, she also received her home cadre, Uttar Pradesh. Thus, she became one of the few officers to get the opportunity to serve in their own state.

IPS Anshika Verma's Career 

Initially, IPS Anshika Verma was assigned the responsibility of SHO (Station House Officer) in Fatehpur Sikri, Agra. She was then promoted and posted as ASP (Additional Superintendent of Police), Gorakhpur, on December 18, 2023. Subsequently, she was appointed as SP of Bareilly South. Currently, she is serving as Additional SP in Bareilly. Her work style, discipline, and conduct are highly appreciated.
