Ritik Solanki, son of a driver, secured the Treasury Officer position in the MPPSC 2022 exam. His dedicated preparation, including guidance from Vision IAS and local officers, led to this inspiring achievement, fulfilling his father's dream.
Ritik Solanki, from Khandwa district, has achieved remarkable success in the Madhya Pradesh Public Service Commission (MPPSC) 2022 examination. He has been selected for the esteemed position of Treasury Officer. His brother has also secured a role as a Forest Guard. Their father, who once aspired to become an officer, had to work as a driver to support his family. Ritik's success is a source of inspiration for young people.
Background
Ritik studied science until class 12, but his true passion always lay in civil services. After enrolling in a BA programme, he began preparing for the civil services examination while still in college. He focused extensively on History and Political Science, which became his main subjects of study.
To boost his preparation, Ritik sought guidance from the renowned "Vision IAS" coaching in Delhi, where he focused on General Studies (GS). In addition to this, he made it a habit to read newspapers daily, which helped him stay updated on current affairs. According to Ritik, creating short notes played a crucial role in his success. These notes not only helped in his revision but also boosted his confidence on the day of the exam.
Exam preparation
Ritik revised a select set of important books to strengthen his preparation. He also recommends a few essential books to aspirants, including Spectrum's Modern History, Laxmikanth's Political Science, Kunal Sir's Economics, and Lucent's General Studies books. For Geography, he followed Sudarshan Gurjar Sir's resources. Additionally, he made use of YouTube and other free online resources, making detailed notes to aid his learning.
Khandwa's administrative officers played a significant role in Ritik's success. Collector Anoop Kumar Singh, ADM Badole Sir, and Additional Collector Nikita Mandloi provided invaluable guidance throughout his preparation for the Prelims, Mains, and Interview stages. These officers dedicated their time to mentor Ritik, helping him identify and work on his weaknesses, which greatly contributed to his achievement.
Achieving success
Tears of joy filled the eyes of Ritik's father, Roop Singh Solanki, upon hearing of his son's selection. Roop Singh had always aspired to become an officer himself, but due to family circumstances, he had to work as a driver. Despite his own challenges, Roop Singh consistently encouraged his children to pursue higher education. Ritik's success has now realised his long-held dream.
