He graduated in commerce from Delhi University after completing his early education at Darbari Lal DAV Model School. He also completed the GNIIT course from NIIT and secured a job at Lucent Technologies as a network engineer.

Family business

Kannav Thukral worked for three years while also assisting his father in the family business. Eventually, he left his business to fully commit to the business. At the time, their shop in Khan Market, Delhi, sold spare parts for luxury vehicles imported from Germany, Dubai, and Japan. Kannav, on the other hand, began selling spare parts for Nokia feature phones.

Business ideas

Kannav launched his business when the mobile phone sector was booming in India. Realizing the potential in his business, he decided to establish a factory in Sonipat, Haryana. He began manufacturing feature phones. The cheap prices of these phones made them popular in rural areas of the country.

In 2016, Kannav began manufacturing smartphones under the brand name Blackzone. These smartphones were sold in various states including UP, Bihar, and West Bengal. The company also produces speakers and smartwatches at affordable prices. Presently, the company has a turnover of Rs 110 crore. The products are also exported to Sri Lanka and Nepal.
