Hailing from the small village of Amadara in Madhya Pradesh's Satna district, she rose against the odds to secure a top rank in the country. Surabhi Gautam's Early Education

Surabhi grew up in a very modest environment. Her father is a lawyer, and her mother is a teacher in the village government school. Her education began in the same government school, where Surabhi excelled in her studies from the beginning. She had a strong desire to achieve something great since her early years.

When she was in intermediate school, she contracted a severe illness, rheumatic fever. For treatment, she had to travel 150 kilometres to Jabalpur every 15 days. But despite these difficulties, she continued her studies and never gave up.

Surabhi Gautam Topped in Engineering

After completing her Class 12th, Surabhi Gautam topped the State Engineering Entrance Exam and secured admission to an Electronics and Communication Engineering programme at a college in Bhopal. Through consistent hard work and dedication, she not only excelled academically but also graduated as the college topper, earning a prestigious gold medal.

Overcoming Challenges

Coming from a Hindi medium background, Surabhi Gautam initially struggled with English communication in college. But instead of letting it break her spirit, Surabhi turned it into motivation. She set a goal to learn new English words daily and, with persistent effort, significantly improved her fluency in a short span of time.

Working at TCS

After engineering, Surabhi got a job at Tata Consultancy Services (TCS). Despite a good salary and a secure career, she left this job because her real dream was to clear the UPSC and serve the country.

UPSC Journey

Along with preparing for UPSC, Surabhi also cleared several other tough exams, including ISRO, BARC, GATE, MPPSC, SAIL, FCI, SSC, and SI in Delhi Police.

Finally, in 2016, Surabhi Gautam achieved her true dream; she secured an All India Rank of 50 in the UPSC Civil Services Examination and became an IAS officer. Her incredible journey from a small village to one of the most prestigious positions in the country has inspired millions of young aspirants across India.
