After three unsuccessful attempts in the UPSC exams, he persevered and pursued UPPSC journey. He cracked the UPPSC 2022 exams and became a Naib Tehsildar. Who is Siddharth Gupta?

Siddharth Gupta completed his schooling from Doon Valley School, Deoband, Saharanpur. In the year 2018, he graduated from Hansraj College, University of Delhi, and embarked on his civil services journey. Initially, he received coaching in Delhi but eventually transitioned to self-study. He reached the mains exams in all three attempts, and even appeared for an interview in 2021. He faced disappointment in three attempts at the UPSC exams, but his determination remained unwavering.

Remaining focused

After reaching the interview stage of the UPSC exam, Siddharth Gupta was hopeful for positive results. However, he faced disappointment after not finding his name on the merit list. He shares that he was resolute in his decision to pursue a career in civil services. Encouraged by the advice of his seniors, he focused his efforts on studying diligently for the UPPSC exams. 

Overcoming challenges

Siddharth Gupta reflects on the challenges he encountered during his civil service journey. He grappled with failure multiple times, and with every failed attempt, doubts loomed over his ability to clear the exam. He found motivation in conversations with family and friends. During moments of distress, he sought solace in evening walks, finding them refreshing and rejuvenating. 

Staying motivated

Siddharth Gupta emphasizes the importance of being a part of a peer group comprising of fellow competitive exam aspirants. He advises against chasing after numerous books and suggests studying from limited but reliable resources. He further mentions that consistent and regular study sessions are crucial. He also advocates for a balance between hard work and smart work, advising against wasting time on unnecessary pursuits. Furthermore, he believes that having a social life is just as important as having academic pursuits.
