New Delhi: Ravi Kapoor was one of the lakhs of students who aspired to join civil services. Through sheer hard work and determination, he accomplished his dream of becoming an IRS officer. Ravi Kapoor dedicated ten years of his life to the service and decided to pursue a career in teaching and mentorship. He quit his job with an aim to provide the right guidance to UPSC aspirants. 

Ravi Kapoor’s background

Ravi Kapoor was born in Delhi. He was more inclined towards sports than his studies. He scored average grades in his school, and nobody ever expected him to clear one of the most difficult examinations of the country. However, he was one of the determined kids. He was pursuing a degree in engineering and then considered a career in bodybuilding. 

Asian Powerlifting Championship

Ravi Kapoor left his studies disappointing his family. He spent hours in gym to become a bodybuilder. He participated in many competitions and in the year 2006, he won a bronze medal in the Asian Powerlifting Championship. Interestingly, he also won the title of Mr Delhi in 2008. Ravi Kapoor was finally able to prove himself that he was doing well in the path he had chosen for himself. However, an incident turned his life upside down. 

Suffering from a sports injury

Ravi Kapoor’s achievements in bodybuilding encouraged him pursue the career further. He took part in Delhi Rugby Club. During one of the rugby games, he suffered a serious injury and had to endure through weeks of bedrest. This accident put a hold on his sports and bodybuilding career.

He felt discouraged at the fact that he would not be able to continue living his dream of becoming a world-renowned bodybuilder. To boost his spirits, he thought about his future and decided to move ahead with a new career. 

Cracking UPSC

Ravi Kapoor completed his graduation and began preparing for UPSC exams. In the year 2009, he appeared for his first attempt but failed to achieve a good rank. In his second attempt, he successfully managed to achieve 454th rank and got appointed as an IRS officer. 

He joined his service and also guided UPSC aspirants to help them achieve their goals. During the same time, Ravi Kapoor published a book titled ‘The Ultimate Cheat Book.’ He received many queries from thousand of aspirants from all over the country and decided that he had enough experience with failures and success to guide someone else on the right path.

He quit his job and started a free mentorship programme for aspirants. Many students have achieved the ranks of IAS and IPS by seeking guidance from his mentorship programmes.
