New Delhi: Many students in India aspire to achieve the dream of becoming a civil officer by successfully passing the UPSC examination. Interestingly, for the first time in the past 15 years, two students who were the students of the same teacher, managed to secure first ranks in the UPSC rankings. This exceptional teacher is Shubhra Ranjan, who has played a pivotal role in nurturing numerous IAS and IPS officers for the country. 

Who is Shubhra Ranjan?

Shubhra Ranjan is the founder of the Shubhra Ranjan IAS Institute. She is a teacher who specializes in teaching subjects like Political Science and International Relations, which hold great significance in the UPSC examination. She effectively addresses the doubts and questions of students who are preparing for the UPSC exam. Her expertise and guidance have proven invaluable for UPSC aspirants.

Shubhra Ranjan’s background

Shubhra Ranjan is a resident of Sitapur, Uttar Pradesh. Many of her family members are either lawyers or teachers. Her love for reading and teaching was evident from a young age, and as she grew up, she started giving tuition classes to students.

After completing her education from Delhi University, she worked as a professional teacher for a few years. She secured a teaching position through the UP Higher Commission and taught at various schools. Interestingly, Shubhra Ranjan never pursued the UPSC examination herself. According to her, she never had a liking for the field of civil services.

Shubhra Ranjan’s advice for students

According to media reports, Shubhra Ranjan advises students to maintain unwavering focus while studying. She emphasizes the importance of making the most of the study materials one has already studied during the exam.

She recommends studying with full concentration and further shares that if students adopt this approach consistently throughout the year, then dedicating 3-4 hours to study daily will suffice. It's worth noting that one of Shubhra Ranjan's students, Ishita Kishore, secured the first rank in the UPSC Exam in 2022, and another student, Tina Dabi, achieved the same feat in 2015.
