Bhopal: Humans have unimaginable capabilities, and when a person uses their full potential to be the best version of themselves, life simply becomes magical. Simala Prasad is an IPS officer and an actress. When she patrols the area donning her police uniform, no one believes that she is also a professional actress. Simala cracked the UPSC exams in the year 2010 and accomplished her dream of becoming an IPS officer.

Who is Simala Prasad?

Simala Prasad was born on 8 October 1980 in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh. She completed her schooling from St Joseph’s Co-Ed School. She earned a B Com degree from Student for Excellence College and a master’s degree in social science from Baraktullah University Bhopal. 

Simala’s father, Dr Bhagirath is an IAS officer from 1975 batch. Presently, he works as the Vice Chancellor of two universities. He was also a Lok Sabha member from Bhind, Madhya Pradesh from 2014 to 2019. Her mother, Mehrunnisa Parvez is a famous novelist. 

Since childhood, Simala had a deep interest in creative activities that allowed her to gain varied experiences. She was a bright student in school and frequently took part in co-curricular activities.

UPSC preparation

Post the completion of her master’s degree, Simala appeared for the Madhya Pradesh Public Service Commission examination, passed it, and secured the position of a DSP. During the same time, she studied for the UPSC examination. Despite all the limitations and without attending any coaching classes, she managed to crack UPSC.

Receiving a film offer

A film director came across Simala Prasad’s story, and fascinated by her charm, he arranged a meeting with her and offered her a role in his film. Zaigham Imam, the director, discussed the script of his upcoming film ‘Alif’ with her. Becoming a film actress had been a long-cherished dream of Simala, and she immediately accepted the offer. Her first film was released in the year 2017. Simala played the role of a journalist in her next film ‘Naksh’, that came out in 2019.
