Who is Radhika Gupta?

Radhika Gupta is the CEO of Edelweiss Mutual Fund (Edelweiss MF). The World Economic Forum has given her the title of Young Global Leader. Radhika did her graduation in Computer Science and pursued another degree in Economics from Wharton School. She also did a programme in Management and Technology from the University of Pennsylvania. 

Radhika Gupta was appointed as the Managing Director of the company in the year 2017. Previously, she was working as the business head of Edelweiss Multi-Strategy Fund for three years. Speculations are that she will serve as a judge in the third season of the show Shark Tank India. 

Radhika Gupta’s background

Radhika Gupta’s father held the position of a diplomat in Pakistan. She was born in Pakistan, and due to some complications at the time of her birth, she suffered from a few neck fractures. This resulted in a permanent neck injury due to which her neck remains crooked that is bent to one side. 

This physical trait made her the target of mockery from classmates, and she endured the scorn of others. Despite all the difficulties, she persevered and established herself as a successful business giant. 

Trials of life

Radhika Gupta completed her higher education while living in America. According to some reports, she was rejected in 7 consecutive interviews. She was only 22 years old at the time and the series of failures affected her mentally. She suffered from depression but refused to accept defeat. Her grit and resolve were stronger than all the rejections in the world. 

Radhika’s successful journey

At the age of 25, Radhika returned to India. She started an asset management company with her husband and friends as business partners. A few years later, Edelweiss acquired her business. In the year 2017, at the age of 33, Radhika Gupta became the CEO of the company. At the time, the revenue of the company was Rs 9,128 crore. Under her vision, the revenue has significantly increased. In January 2023, the value of the company exceeded Rs 1 lakh crore.
