Rai Bareilly: Mohammad Naseem Sheikh was diagnosed with cancer a few years ago. This debilitating illness can weaken anyone’s spirits, but there are individuals like Naseem Sheikh, who look in the face of challenges and refuse to succumb to them. Despite suffering from serious health issues for years, he looked for ways to divert his mind from the illness and focused on what he loved doing. Mohammad Naseem is an artist and has his name registered in the IEA Book of World Records.

Who is Mohammad Naseem Shaikh?

Mohammad Naseem Sheikh is a resident of a village in Salon district of Rai Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh. He had a keen interest in art and crafts since his childhood and wanted to create a future in the same field. However, as is the reality of the world, it is nearly impossible to get both satisfaction and money from making art. In order to support his family financially, Mohammad Naseem opened a mobile shop.

In the year 2016, when he observed certain changes around his mouth, he thought it best to consult a doctor. After performing various tests, it was found that Naseem was suffering from tongue cancer. He did not get disheartened and fought the illness with bravery while receiving proper treatment. Today, he is in perfect health.

World’s smallest painting brush

Naseem Sheikh learned about a record that artist Katrina Kiskoi held under her name. She had created the world’s smallest painting brush of 6 mm. This news was of profound interest for him, and he decided to break the record by creating a 3 mm painting brush.

Just under ten days, he made it happen and created the world’s smallest painting brush. In the month of October, his name was registered in the IEA Book of World Records. He was felicitated with the award in an art event in Mumbai.

Pictures on grains

When Naseem Sheikh was a kid, he learned about a massive painting that a young boy had made of the late singer Lata Mangeshkar; his name was registered in the Guiness Book of World Records. This prompted Naseem to think differently, and he decided to create tiny pictures on grains.

Golden Book of Records

In the year 2015, Naseem Sheikh wrote quotes like ‘India is Great’ and ‘Vande Mataram’ on human hair. He has made three pictures on rice grains. He also drew a picture of Gandhiji on a mustard seed. For this achievement, his name was registered in the Golden Book of World Records. He was awarded with the title of Personality of India in the year 2016.

Fighting cancer

When the idea of drawing pictures on grains occurred to him, he made a tiny painting of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on a rice grain.
