Saharanpur: Poor internet connectivity has been a consistent problem in villages and remote areas. Many people are not even aware of such internet facilities. Kumar Satyam launched a startup called ‘CEQU’ with an aim to drive a solution to this problem. He has combined Artificial Intelligence and telecom technology to create a system that would boost the internet connectivity in rural areas.

Finding solutions

Kumar Satyam shares more information about his startup. Through this system, the users are not asked for any sort of payment up to a certain limit. A small amount is charged for exceeding the prescribed data limit.

Laying the foundation

Maa Shakumbari temple of Saharanpur had no internet connectivity. Satyam’s first system was installed near the temple area. He also exhibited his model in the Global Investor Summit organized in Lucknow and explained about his project to Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The startup was launched in May 2022. The internet can be accessed on the mobile phones by entering an OTP. The second model of the internet system was installed in Balwantpur village of Saharanpur. He shares that the idea of installing these systems in rural areas is to assure the authorities of the efficiency of his models. These areas have poor connectivity and if Satyam’s systems work well in these areas, they will become trusted testament to his startup.

Productive use of internet

The system is made in such a way that once the gadgets connect to the network, a Digigram portal opens which provides various services to the users. The applications in Digigram can be used for e-education, e-health, e-governance, e-commerce services. A system called Village Integrated Command and Control Centre (V-ICCC) is used. The services are most useful for students as NCERT syllabus up to class 12 can be accessed on the platform.

Promoting other services

Kumar Satyam believes that through the usage of open hotspot networks, various services can be provided to the villagers. Facilities like UPI payments can also be made, which would enable every user to become digitally empowered. Furthermore, Satyam shares that even electricity is not required for his internet systems as they run on solar powers.

The significance of CEQU

Kumar Satyam learned that although the network facilities are available at many places, they have little to no connectivity. His aim is to make all the internet facilities available through his platform. He shares an example that the government does not install hotspot points at multiple places as people might misuse the services, but on the other hand, they can be an excellent source of educational resources for students who don’t have access to expensive materials. Satyam hopes to make his services available to each and every person who can bring in a change in the society.
