Rai Bareilly: Thousands of people lost their jobs during Covid, and many businesses were shut down during this cruel period. However, there are people who achieved milestones by establishing their businesses during the pandemic. Rai Bareilly’s Heramb Dixit had a reputable job in the city of Lucknow. After the lockdown, he returned back to his village, and launched his own business.

Who is Heramb Dixit?

Heramb Dixit is a resident of Taronja village of Shivgarh area of Rai Bareilly. He was working as a Chartered Accountant in a private company in Lucknow. Heramb lost his job due to the pandemic and the lockdown. He returned back to his village with an uncertain future. He decided the start a milk production business and fortunately, within months, he was making lakhs of rupees.

Seeking inspiration

Heramb Dixit shares that he sought inspiration from Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s self-employment scheme under the rubric of Atmanirbhar Bharat. Being the owner of his own business, he is only accountable for himself and does not depend on anyone else’s half-hearted dedication to his work. He no longer has the fear getting fired or not doing enough for getting a promotion. Everything relies upon him, which gives him a great sense of responsibility and takes off the burden of fulfilling someone else’s expectations of him.

The company’s profit

Heramb has seven buffaloes and ten cows. He produces more than 100 litres of milk every day from his animals. Organic fertilizers are manufactured from the waste that cows and buffaloes produce. He shares that he is earning twice as much than the salary he was earning from his office job.

The profit that Heramb makes is evident from the fact that he takes excellent care of his animals. He feeds them on time and gives them timely treatment in case of illnesses. His livelihood is entirely dependent on the wellbeing of these animals, and he makes sure to carry out his responsibilities well.
