Assam: Diganta Das was born and raised in a poor family. Being the sole breadwinner of the family, he struggled to make the ends meet. He juggled between odd jobs where he worked as a daily wage labourer, cook, mine worker, and a security guard. He dreamed big and persevered to walk on the path of success. He made a fortune for himself and today he is the owner of the company Daily Fresh Food. 

Who is Diganta Das?

Diganta Das is a resident of Gohpur town in Biswanath district of Assam. He is the youngest among his three siblings and being the only son of his parents, he had to carry multiple responsibilities on his shoulders. His father, Naren Das works as a farmer, and his mother, Sumila Das is a homemaker. 

After completing his schooling, he moved to Arunachal Pradesh to earn a living. He worked there as a daily wage labourer and began working in the coal mines of Meghalaya in the year 2005. He also took up a job as a storekeeper in a construction company in Udalguri district in Assam. He also made a living by working as a cook. In the year 2008, he moved to Bangalore and earned a job as a private security guard in an industrial centre. After almost a decade of working in temporary jobs, he returned to Assam in 2014. 

Facing a setback

In the year 2017, an unfortunate accident took place. A high voltage electric wire fell on Diganta Das, and he suffered injuries from the incident. Half of his body became paralyzed, and it took him almost 4 years to recover from the condition. The months he spent in bed made him realize that there are a thousand opportunities awaiting him. After his health improved, he moved to Bangalore and laid the foundation of his business. 

Food business in Silicon Valley

Diganta Das had started his business during the pandemic. He could not make profits in the first few months of his business. However, his life lessons had taught him to never give up. He persevered and established a company named Daily Fresh Food in 2022 in his hometown in Assam. Diganta Das had always been prudent about his future; he had saved Rs 7 lakh from his years of work. He invested all the money in his business. The company makes multi-layer half-baked parathas (fried flat breads). 

Prices of the products

The price of Daily Fresh Food products ranges from Rs 60 to 100. The products come in two varieties with 5 to 10 pieces in one packet. The shelf life of a product is three to seven days when kept in the refrigerator. The company makes 2000 products every day and earns Rs 30,000 in a day. There are currently 8 employees working for the company.
