Among those achievers is Yashoda Lodhi from Uttar Pradesh. Renowned as ‘Dehati Madam,’ she is a shining example of resilience and commitment. Through sheer dedication, she mastered the art of speaking fluent English, and has now become an inspiration for many. 

Who is Yashoda Lodhi?

Yashoda Lodhi, hailing from Sirathu Nagar Panchayat in the Kaushambi district of Uttar Pradesh, runs a YouTube channel called ‘English with Dehati Madam.’ Her determination to learn English inspired her to refine her talents using the internet as an educational platform. In a short time, she rose from the label of being called 'Dehati' to the inspiring 'Dehati Madam.' Today, she earns significant income through her online lessons. 

 

Education

Yashoda grew up in her maternal home. She completed her schooling and undergraduate studies in Hindi medium. After her education, she began teaching young children. Along the way, she fell in loved, but faced social and familial pressures. This is where her journey of defiance began. 

Enduring challenges

Despite the resistance, she married her first love and started a new life. Her husband earned Rs 300 per day as a daily wage labourer. However, in 2019, a tragedy struck when her husband became disabled due to an accident. The couple’s life was thrown into turmoil. They struggled to afford even a single meal in a day. 

Dehati Madam’s success

Amidst the chaos, Yashoda Lodhi launched a YouTube channel ‘English with Dehati Madam’ on her mobile phone, where she began teaching English to people. Over time, her channel gained significant popularity. Presently, she earns a monthly income of Rs 80 to 90 thousand in a month. There was a time when she managed household expenses with a monthly income of Rs 9 thousand. Today, she has completely transformed her life with her dedication.

In her videos, she appears wearing a simple saree, vermillion on her forehead, and a bindi. Her humbleness is making waves on her social media accounts. Through her YT channel, she is shattering barriers with a message that anyone can master any language.
