Madhya Pradesh: Ameen has made the impossible happen. He had been looked down on for many years, but now he is the first Patwari (a registrar) from his village.

Background

Ameen Mansuri was born with no arms, but he never let his physical shortcomings discourage him. He is 27 years old and holds a B. Tech degree in computer engineering. His parents are tailors, and both of his brothers work as tailors too. Ameen always had his inclination towards studies more than his brothers. He was always determined to prove himself.

The financial condition of the household was not very good but despite that his parents always made sure to provide Ameen and his brothers with proper education. Ameen completed his schooling from a government school of Peepalrawa and moved to the city of Indore for his graduation.

Ameen’s path to success was full of difficulties. Nobody ever taught him how to write with his feet, he was self-inspired to fulfil his urge to learn how to write. Later, he worked on the computers.

Path to success

Ameen’s family had always been a source of inspiration. But his relatives and neighbours looked down on him for his disability. He had never let this demotivate him, but he needed to prove everyone that he was not any less capable than anyone else.

He studied for 12 hours a day for the competitive exams. For four years, he wrote bank and railway exams in hopes of getting a government job.

Honoured at the national level

While Ameen was studying in class 11th, he was felicitated with an award at the national level for making a project of solar cooker. He received immense support from his parents and his teachers for being a bright student in his studies.

Celebration with the villagers

After hearing the news of Ameen’s success at the Patwari exams, people gathered in numbers to congratulate him. He secured the first place in the entire district. Everyone offered him sweets and expressed their happiness whole-heartedly.

A will to continue learning

Ameen shares that although he has a government job now and he is able to improve the financial condition of his house, he will never stop learning. He will continue to study to prepare for more competitive examinations.
