Gonda: The District Administration of Gonda has come up with a new and unique campaign idea to support the livelihoods of those belonging to underprivileged sections of society. They collect the items that are thrown away, segregate them, and donate them to poor people to brighten their festival of Diwali. The district administration will also be honouring the officers, employees, and residents who will perform their duties willingly and in the best way possible. This unique campaign is called ‘Har Ghar Neki Ki Deewar.’

Starting the campaign

The DM of Gonda, Neha Sharma started the campaign with hopes of enabling poor people to enjoy the festival of Diwali without stressing about their financial circumstances. The objective is to deliver the unused items from well-off households to the people in need.

Neha Sharma mentions how each year, before the festival of Diwali, people start deep cleaning their houses diligently, and various items that are no longer used like old clothes, utensils, blankets, shoes, and toys are thrown out. The idea was to donate these items to people who will appreciate their value better.

People are informed and encouraged to donate these items to the donation kiosks at their nearest Municipality, Nagar Panchayat, and Gram Panchayat. This will prove to be a great way to bring happiness in the lives of the poor.

Building special centres

Special centres will be established up to the Gram Panchayat level in Gonda district, Uttar Pradesh, as part of the 'Har Ghar Neki Ki Deewar' initiative. These centres will also be set up in Municipal Councils and Nagar Panchayats. A record of all donated items will be maintained, making them accessible to those in need. One can obtain items from these centres based on their requirements.

Helpline number

IAS Neha Sharma has announced that the ‘Har Ghar Neki Ki Deewar’ campaign will continue until Diwali. To facilitate this initiative, a helpline number, 05262-230125, has been provided for the convenience of the public. A dedicated control room has been set up, operating from 7 am to 10 pm, allowing local residents to inquire about the campaign. This helpline also serves as a means to contact relevant officers and employees associated with the campaign.

The donations

DM Neha Sharma urges the residents to donate those items that can be used again. Donating torn clothes or damaged goods would be of no use for anyone and those items must be sent for recycling purposes instead of donating. The positive outcomes of the campaign are apparent as people are enthusiastically taking part in it. They realize their responsibility towards the betterment of the society and make an effort to contribute their bit.
