Siddharth Nagar: 19-year-old Abhishek Chaudhary has invented a device called ‘Crop Security Alarm’ to prevent wild animals from entering the fields and ruining the crops. He has not graduated from IITs or NITs but is just a student at a local school studying in class 12. Abhishek is a resident of Ramwapur village in Siddharth Nagar district of Uttar Pradesh. His extraordinary innovative talents have earned him recognition in his city.

 An innovative wheelchair

Abhishek Chaudhary has designed a multi-functional wheelchair that makes the daily lives of people with disabilities easier. The unique function of this wheelchair is that it can be operated without the use hands making it easier and more accessible for disabled persons. Abhishek has added features in the wheelchair that serve to different purposes.

Voice and remote functions

A disabled person can operate the wheelchair remotely by connecting it to a mobile device via Bluetooth. For those who cannot use their hands and legs, voice control feature is available, without any specific language requirement; the wheelchair responds to commands in the user's preferred language.

Additionally, if a person is unable to communicate with their hands and legs, they can control the wheelchair using a specialized helmet. This helmet allows them to direct the wheelchair's movement by turning their head. Notably, UP Governor Anandiben Patel witnessed this innovative technology during a programme at AKTU.

Other innovative devices

Abhishek shares that the cost of making a wheelchair is around Rs 60,000. He cannot rely on family’s expenses and therefore, participates in various programmes to receive financial assistance. Presently, he is making a new device that can be used to control the functions of vehicles like cars and bikes. For instance, if you lose the car keys, then using the functions on your phone, you will still be able to access the car door lock. This device would cost around Rs 7 to 8 thousand.

Future dreams

A special function that will be added to the car device is that only the owner of the car would be able to operate the device from their phone. Abhishek has such a zest for designing these innovative devices that he failed to study for his class 12 exams. Currently, he is also preparing for the compartment exams. Regardless of the marks he scores, it is evident that his technological intellect is far greater than any other regular student. His dedication to his craft sets him apart from anyone else.
