Let's Talk About Bharat: Gurjara Pratihara Dynasty

The Gurjara-Pratihara dynasty was an imperial power during the Late Classical period on the Indian subcontinent, that ruled much of Northern India from the mid-8th to the 11th century. The Gurjara-Pratiharas were instrumental in containing Arab armies moving east of the Indus River. Nagabhata I defeated the Arab army under Junaid and Tamin during the Caliphate campaigns in India. Nagabhata led a confederacy of Gurjara-Pratiharas to defeat the Arabs who had till then been pressing on victorious through West Asia and Iran. It is believed that it was the power of the Gurjara-Pratihara army that effectively barred the progress of the Arabs beyond the confines of Sindh.
