Activists challenge astrologers by wagering Rs 1 crore for prediction of Lok Sabha winners

Bengaluru: Astrologers predicting winners of the Lok Sabha election these days in Indian regional channels are a common sight. But fortune-telling just got a bit more interesting after they were challenged by rationalists to predict winners with the exact numbers from any one of 543 Parliamentary constituencies. One of the challengers, activist T Narasimha Murthy says he respects astrology but wants to test their skill as “many people's lives and careers depend on their predictions.” He said, "I want the public to demand bills so that in case the service is not up to the standard, we can drag such fake astrologers to consumer court. " He announced a cash reward of Rs 1 lakh and a gold ring for the right prediction against Re 1 in case the astrologer loses.
