Karachi: The Pakistan Supreme Court has asked the Punjab Excise and Taxation Department to file a report on the allegation that a retired Pakistani judge has more than 2,000 cars registered in his name.

The counsel of a retired judge approached the department after the latter received a challan for a car that was not owned by him, following which the authorities found that as many as 2,224 cars were registered under his name.

The judge has been identified as Sikandar Hayat, according to a report by India Today.

However, Hayat’s counsel Mian Zafar informed the Pakistan Supreme Court that the judge owns only one car.

The Dawn reported that Zafar has said a total of 2,224 cars were registered in the name of the judge.

The Pakistan Supreme Court has ordered the taxation department to file a report in this matter within a week, reported the website.
